The Wine Sisterhood was created by a group of female wine marketers, colleagues and friends, who share many years of experience in the wine industry creating successful brands. The idea was sparked by interactions such as these: showing packaging layouts to complete strangers in airports and asking for an opinion, bringing a new wine to a party to see if guests liked the taste, querying servers which of the following wine names they liked best, polling taxi drivers on their favorite varietals, and so forth.
The group was struck by the quality of the insights gained from their ad hoc research, and how often seemingly random ideas and comments played a significant role in the development process and, ultimately, the success of the wine. The advent of wine 2.0, the explosion of the blogosphere and the birth of social media has allowed the sisters to take their show to the virtual highway, and engage more wine consumers that ever before, creating a ongoing dialogue between the ones who make the wines and the ones who buy it.
